How to Become a Company Secretary (CS)
After 12th
Here’s a step-by-step guide To become a CS after 12th,
1. Register for the CSEET exam
Eligibility: You should have cleared your 12th standard in any stream
2. Clear the CSEET
To proceed to the next level, the Executive program, you must pass the CS executive entrance test. The exam occurs four times yearly in May, July, November and January.
3. Register for the CS Executive Programme
The Executive Programme can be pursued after passing the CSEET.
4. Clear the CS Executive Exam
Unlike CSEET, the Executive exams are conducted twice a year in June and December.
6. EDP training
Complete one month’s EDP training (executive development program). It is divided into two: 15 days are in the classroom and 15 days are online.
5. Become a member and register for the CS Professional Programme
Having passed all the courses at the Executive level, you can become a student of the Professional Programme.
Duration: On average, the Professional Programme takes 10 months to complete.

6. Pass the CS Professional Exam
The CS professional exam is the final level you must clear to become a CS.
7. Complete the Practical Training
Once you have completed the Professional Programme, you must complete 21 months of practical training. Training can be done with a recognized company or under a practising Company Secretary.
