 For the BSc Computer Science course eligibility, the following are the essential requirements:

  • For admission to a Bachelor of Science program in computer science, students must have passed Class 12 higher secondary education from an accredited board. 
  • Students at the Class 12 level must have studied physics, chemistry, and mathematics (PCM).
  • If a student pursues a three-year diploma in computer science then lateral entry is available for the second year of the curriculum in colleges. Colleges may require a specific passing percentage in a three-year diploma course.

Admission process for BSc Computer Science Course:

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science admissions process is mostly based on merit. For this course, some top universities did, however, require an entrance exam. Students who wish to attend colleges offering BSc Computer Science programs must fulfil the qualifying conditions.

  • Students must complete an online application form on the official website of their respective universities to apply for online BSc Computer Science courses.

BHU UET: Examinees wishing to pursue BSc computer science at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) must take the BHU UET exam. 

IISER Aptitude Test (IAT): The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) administers the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) to prospective students who wish to enrol in a four year BS or five-year BS-MS dual degree program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or Data Science. The IAT evaluates a student’s proficiency in mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics. The candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam or an equivalent test in the Science stream to be eligible to take the IAT. Additionally, the candidate’s aggregate score on the 10+2 exam must have been at least 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwD). 

CUET: Students will have a single point of contact to apply for admission to participating universities and institutes nationwide through the Central University Entrance Test (CUET), which is required for admission to BSc Computer Science programs offered by the participating central universities. The National Testing Agency uses an offline mode to administer this exam.
